New single from the upcoming ep dedicated to the culture of Sri Lanka-a beautiful tropical island often called the pearl of the Indian ocean. Tropical Dub Connection is about uniting elements in the art of DUB and this is the first release exclusively featuring tracks in the Sinhala language, that has a history that goes beyond the time of the Buddha in 3rd Century BC. This could be the first time ever that this ancient language of the island nation of Sri Lanka has been used in the context of DUB music and once again fulfilling the TDC vision of uniting cultures through DUB.
The title of the single refers to the great goddess Kali, worshipped by Hindu as well Buddhist people of Sri Lanka who were at war for generations but unified in their worship of gods and gedesses. Kali is the Hindu goddess of death, time, and doomsday. She is also associated with sexuality and violence and is often confusing and frightening to westerners, what’s more the goddess Kali is the epitome of motherhood and represents the fierce love of a mother, she is a becon of feminine energy, creativity and fertility - and is an incarnation of Parvati, wife of the great Hindu god Shiva aka “Ishwara” or lord in sanskrit.
