Brand new album 'inna showcase fashion' goes for first time strictly to south america and pointing on TDC's longtime passion for its music and culture. Grooving in one of the most influential genres of the region - the Cumbia. With its origin as a rhythm and dance, going back to 1940's Colombia and its african and indigenous communities of caribbean coast, and its later spread and evolution throughout whole continent, with each countries, especially Peru ( cumbia psicodelica 'la chicha' of 60's ) and Mexico ('cumbia rebajada' of Monterrey etc ) leaving its own strong cultural imprint to it.
Since cumbias mentioned caribbean roots and unique style, which alongside jamaican reggae and dub, from early studio recordings emphasizing the role of bass in the groove and sound, aswell as the numerous parallels in origin and cultural background of both styles- (from african ancestral heritage to similarites of JA soundsystem culture and latin Sonideros etc..)the connection with dub feels truely natural.
Dubbin' la Cumbia vol. 1 showcasing that connection in 'TDC stylee' and taking listener on a sonic journey throughout the whole continent. From caribbean and pacific coast to the jungle region of Amazonas, through the sound of los barrios of the cities up to the heights of Andes mountains..
